I am an open-minded St Albans-based funeral celebrant. I respect all spiritual beliefs and views regarding death, and will listen to your family’s story with warmth and compassion. I serve Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hillingdon, but I particularly like working with local families whose life stories are embedded in the places I know well.
I thoroughly enjoy my work, and consider it an honour to help families create personal and cathartic ceremonies to say their goodbyes. I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants, subscribe to ongoing professional development from The Celebrants Collective, have adopted The Funeral Celebrant Accord, am DBS cleared, and am fully insured.
Prior to becoming a funeral celebrant, I spent twenty years working in education in both the private and state sectors, at home and abroad. Having decided upon a change of direction, I undertook my training to become a qualified funeral celebrant with Green Fuse, attained a level 3 diploma for funeral celebrants accredited by OCN London, and have since helped over a hundred families to say their goodbyes.
Last September, I set up 'South Herts Funeral Celebrant Meetups' - a monthly opportunity for existing and aspiring funeral celebrants based in St Albans and the surrounding to connect and support each other. I am also proud to be a member of Wheathampstead Businesses, which promotes and supports local businesses, and have recently become their networking coordinator.
When I'm not working, I'm at my happiest reading or listening to a good book, walking my dog or catching up with family and friends.
